In accordance with Bill 56, every year each SWLSB school adopts and implements an Anti-Bullying Anti-Violence Plan. The plan must include prevention measures to put an end to all forms of bullying and violence (including those motivated by racism or homophobia or targeting sexual orientation, sexual identity, a handicap or a physical characteristic ), specify the actions to be taken and the supervisory or support measures to be offered when an act of bullying or violence is observed, determine the disciplinary sanctions applicable to bullying and violence and specify the follow-up to be given to any report or complaint concerning an act of bullying or violence.
A committee composed of teachers, school professionals, and support staff completes an analysis of the prevelance of bullying and violence in the school and then adopts programs, strategies and policies that will create a harmonious school enviroment in which bullying and violence will not be tolerated. School initiatives foster collaboration with parents and encourage all members of the school community to report and act upon any incident of bullying or violence that may occur.
